PORTER & HARDING

Porter & Harding was founded in 1947 by John Porter and Bill Harding, two lovers of country sports.

After the war it was very difficult to get finance so George Harrison & Co, who at that time had no sports cloth in their range, became partners in Porter & Harding with shared warehousing in Edinburgh and shared offices in Paris and New York.

The headquarters of Porter & Harding at that time was based in London. They had their own office where all the buying and sales were managed. Mr Porter retired after only a few years but the business was carried on by Bill Harding and latterly his son Keith Harding.

Lear Browne and Dunsford acquired the company in 1993 and it has continued to develop with a full range of sports cloths which are sold extensively around the world.
